PM Hun Sen Introduces "1 Plus" Investment Concept to World Economic Forum Regional Program Director

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen met with the Asia-Pacific Program Director and Executive Member of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Joo-Ok Lee, at the Peace Palace on Thursday morning, where he introduced and expressed his views on the non-concentrated investment concept, "1 Plus", in which neighboring countries can solve help solve the problems faced by one country in crisis and also help provide replacement work to maintain the supply of goods.

The Prime Minister also drew the WEF Regional Program Director's attention to the development of the digital sector in Cambodia.

Joo-Ok Lee congratulated Cambodia on its great development and also said that if there was no outbreak of Covid-19, Cambodia would have grown even more.

He confirmed to the Prime Minister that the WEF will be held in June 2022 and accepted Prime Minister Hun Sen’s recommendations to include in the concept of this meeting.

The WEF is an international non-governmental lobbying organization based in Cologne, Geneva, Switzerland, and was founded on 24 January 1971 by German engineer and economist Klaus Schwab. Most of the WEF’s funding comes from its 1,000-member companies, which generate more than $5 billion dollars in public subsidies for their mission of "improving the state of the world with the participation of business, politics, education and social leaders to set the global, regional and industrial agenda."
